The Vital Dimension
|
My earliest memory is of awaking in a small body pinned to a mattress by an invisible force. Tall, thin, friendly-looking creatures stood above me and made noises that I did not understand. They moved their slender arms and stood erect, but my stubby limbs were so uncoordinated they were useless. I wanted to return to my dream world where I could fly. What was going on? Where does this memory lie? Is it in the neural substance of my brain? Or is it in the "thickness" of time? The quest for an answer to the mystery of our being has framed the direction of my life. It led to a BS in Chemistry and Biology from Boston University and an MS in Chemistry from Georgetown University. From there the quest became broader and included an MBA from Cornell University and a career in the business world. But with the quandary that others have encountered, I could not reconcile the fundamental split between my scientific, material view of the Universe and an experiential, spiritual view of reality. Finally, I sought to find an answer by examining the voices of dissent within the scientific establishment. The results are the thesis, The Vital Dimension. The conclusion? Things are far stranger than conventional science might lead us to believe. Since debate on the nature of life often focusses on one's religious beliefs, let it be know that I am not a member of any church or other sort of spiritual, or religious organization. I have a bland Christian back ground. I have no strong religious beliefs. My view of God and the nonphysical dimension is eclectic and not easy to define.
